To promote a partnership between parents, pupils, staff and governors that will assist the school to fulfil its vision for the education of the pupils in the School
KESPA (King Edward's School Parents' Association) was formed in 1997, not only to provide a point of contact for parents who live near to King Edward's, but also for those who live far away. Unlike many schools we were not formed ostensibly as a fund-raising group, although if we can raise money to support the School that is a bonus.
Since its inception KESPA has gone through many changes. As with any voluntary group of people, we evolve depending on who is currently on our committee at any one time. The committee is elected annually.
Parents pay a voluntary contribution of £3 per term per family, which helps fund events for both boarding and day parents.
Currently we run three main activities during the school year: In the Autumn Term we have our Live music and BBQ event. In the Spring Term we run a Super Brain Quiz night and in the Summer Term we stage our Summer Ball.
We produce a publication called Kespa Konnect once a year that is emailed to all parents, guardians and staff. The purpose of this magazine is to let everyone know what we as KESPA have achieved and what we are planning for the future. We include information about King Edward's that we feel could help parents. In addition, the magazine provides a forum for parents to advertise their own businesses and services which may of interest to other parents.
